The basis of our proposal is an e-commerce
solution that will enable visitors to buy goods online through
your website. The website will use the traditional ‘shopping
basket’ model to handle the browsing and buying process,
whereby customers can casually add items to their shopping
basket until they are ready to place their order. When ready,
they can proceed to the checkout to arrange delivery and enter
their credit card details securely.
Technology
Our software is built upon Microsoft .NET technology.
This provides a fast and robust platform for our system and
allows us to easily develop and rollout our planned range
of upgrades and add-ons.
Product Catalogue
To facilitate fast and simple browsing of your various
product lines by your customers all these items will be compiled
into a structured product catalogue which is divided into
levels of categories and sub-categories. The catalogue structure
will be entirely configurable through an online control panel
and each category can be assigned a photograph to help users
identify them when browsing through the catalogue. Each individual
product can have an unlimited number of variants, such as
size, colour, and so on, with their own prices and up to five
related products can also be suggested to the customer.
Order Processing
Once the customer is ready to order and has added
all the items with the correct quantities to their shopping
basket they can proceed to the checkout. At the checkout stage
they will be asked to confirm their order and once they do
a breakdown will be emailed to you and a confirmation will
also be sent to the customer. After the order has been placed,
first time customers can choose to register with the website
so that their details will be remembered for next time Credit
Card Processing
Customers will be able to pay by credit or debit
card. Card details are captured by a secure third-party payment
gateway which then submits them to your acquiring bank for
authorisation. Accepted payments are then remitted to your
merchant account after a few days once the order has been
shipped and the order process is complete. These payment gateways
charge for their services on a per transaction basis. We will
help you select the most suitable UK payment gateway for your
business by looking at your expected trading volume and turnover
through the website to determine the most cost-effective pricing
plan.
Order History
Customers will be able to review the history of past online
orders they have made through the website, looking at when
they were placed and the contents and status of each order.

local currency; or transact directly in local currencies using
a bureau service such as WorldPay or using additional foreign
currency merchant accounts.
Language
The language solution lets you display the entire website
in one or more foreign language, including buttons, messages,
navigation aids and content. Translations can be cut and pasted
into the online content management system. Funding is usually
available from UK Trade & Invest to assist with obtaining
the required translations.
International
